EIA Spring 2022 Irrigation Forum : Wastewater reuse in Irrigation

At the time of accelerated global change in various aspects of business, politics and social life, the opportunities to exchange between water & irrigation experts is becoming more and more important. This is the purpose of the EIA’s Irrigation Forums.

 

WHAT IS THE IRRIGATION FORUM ?

The Irrigation Forum is a gathering event held several times a year with the aim to cover a range of relevant topics concerning the Irrigation Sector in Europe. As well as the professional program, the forum also provides an opportunity forthe participants to meet each other (these days virtually…) and to strengthen their network with European colleagues.

The Irrigation Forum is an event open to all industry professionals and visitors who are interested in technology, sustainability & innovation in the irrigation sector.

  1. Introduction by EIA President, Moshi Berenstein.
  2. Welcome to the new members, EIA Communication Officer, Fleur Martin
  3. Introduction to wastewater reuse constraints and benefits in irrigation:  Dr. Bruno Molle
  4. Guest Speaker: Dr Christoph Hugi, FHNW Basel -  “Wastewater Reuse : focus on the Poseidon tool”. POSEIDON is decision support tool for the selection of the most appropriate technologies for the treatment (purification, reclamation), distributionof treated effluents in a urban irrigation reuse perspective.  For more, please see the introduction to the Poseidon E-tool in the appendix.
  5. Innovation & Technology session– Jan Gould, CEO RDI : plant-responsive irrigation and fertigation system.
  6. Open session for Q&A.
