Rolf Krüger, a figure of the European Irrigation Industry, passed away on July 7, 2025

Rolf Krüger passed away in hospital on Monday, 7 July 2025. His funeral will take place on Tuesday 15 July 2025 at 2:00 pm at Oberjessingen Cemetery.

He was a well-known figure at Rain Bird, a renowned manufacturer of irrigation systems.  He was the managing director of Rain Bird Deutschland GmbH, the German branch of the world's leading irrigation company, for many years. He had extensive experience in irrigation technology and management.

 He also served as President of the European Irrigation Association (EIA) for three years, playing a key role in advancing irrigation practices throughout Europe. He ran his own consulting firm, Rolf Krüger Consult, which was based in Herrenberg, Germany, and he contributed his expertise to various projects.

He participated in discussions and seminars on sustainable management practices for sports and golf courses, including the efficient use of water on natural and artificial turf surfaces. His work focused on improving water quality and efficiency in agriculture and recreation through irrigation systems.

In his roles as a consultant and lecturer, he shared his knowledge at international events, emphasising the importance of modern irrigation technologies for sustainable agriculture and landscaping.
