Unique Student Identifier – From 1 January 2015 a new system will be put in place by the Australian Government which will require each student to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to obtain their certificate or qualification from registered training organisations (RTOs) when studying nationally recognised training in Australia. The onus will be on the student to obtain a USI. You can get your USI from http://usi.gov.au/Pages/default.aspx. All RTOs will be required to collect and verify a USI for each student prior to issuing a qualification or statement of attainment. Download the Unique Student Identification fact sheet.
