Management of the irrigation system to save on water and energy
The soils of the Haute Lande, characterised by a very high sand content, have limited available water reserves and irrigation has to be used to produce crops. A local research group, specialising in agricultural techniques (GRCETA-SFA), supports the farmers in the daily management of their farms, particularly in areas that involve irrigation. The aim is to help to optimise water consumption and reduce the energy bill.
