The European Irrigation Association is pleased to announce the next edition of its Summer Irrigation Forum, taking place online on Friday, 3 July 2026 from 14:00 to 16:00 CET.
Two topics will be discussed during this forum :
1 - Is hydroponics irrigation?
2 - A self-sustaining urban greening solution.
This Forum will explore emerging perspectives on irrigation and innovative approaches to water use in both agriculture and urban environments: two areas increasingly shaped by climate pressures and resource constraints.
The programme will feature expert insights from leading voices in the sector, including:
“Is Hydroponics Irrigation?” – Dimitrios Savvas (Agricultural University of Athens)
Exploring whether hydroponics fits within traditional irrigation definitions and what this means for the future of water management in agriculture.
“Water-independent greening solutions for the city” – Baptiste Laurent (Vertuo)
Showcasing innovative urban greening solutions designed to reduce or eliminate reliance on conventional water resources.
Participants will gain valuable insights into how irrigation practices are evolving, from advanced agricultural systems to cutting-edge urban applications, and how innovation is driving more efficient and sustainable water use.
As usual, the event will be held in English and is open to anyone interested in the irrigation industry and saving water in agriculture and landscaping.
Registration is free but required. Click the button below and register to get the link.
