The European Irrigation Association (EIA) held on January 26, 2023 a virtual Winter Irrigation Forum.
This time we learnt more about two topics
- Advancing regenerative agriculture, carbon science, and ecosystem service markets: Opportunities for irrigation.
- Control watering in green city environment.
During 2 hours sessions, 65 peoples attended to very interesting presentations whose main themes were adaptation to climate change and innovation.
Moshi Berenstein, EIA President started by an introduction about The EU taxonomy for sustainable activities.
Fleur Martin, EIA Communication Officer, welcomed the 7 new members, who have recently joined the EIA : Amiad, Debernard, Inovato, Lite Soil, Poliext, T.H.E. Machines, and University of Ljubljana.
This introduction was followed by 2 presentations :
- Guest Speaker: Agreena's Chief Science Officer, Nathan Torbick, PhD – “Advancing regenerative agriculture, carbon science, and ecosystem service markets: Opportunities for irrigation”
- Innovation & Technology session : – “Control watering in green city environment” by Paul Van Breda, Irri-Spec.
The presentations were followed by an interactive questions and answers sessions.
For those who are not yet members, we invite you to join EIA, to promote the continued development of irrigation products, practices and services, and to advocate for sustainable industry standards and water management policies that lead to a stable legal environment for irrigation professionals.
