"With 2,803 exhibitors and 450,000 visitors, including more than 100,000 from outside Germany, Agritechnica has further extended its reputation as the largest international gathering of professionals from the agriculture and agricultural machinery sector," said Dr. Reinhard Grandke, Chief Executive Officer, DLG (German Agricultural Society), when the trade fair concluded in Hanover on 18th November 2017. "The innovations presented at Agritechnica under the main theme ‘A Green Future - Smart Technology’ offer agriculture the best conditions for a sustained intensification of production, aiming to increase efficiency while at the same time conserving resources. Digitization is the main driver of innovation in this respect." 2,803 companies from 53 countries, including most of the world's leading manufacturers, exhibited a full range of tractors, farm machinery, equipment, spare parts and accessories. International participation at the event, at 60 percent of the total present, has never been higher. According to figures take on the final day, Agritechnica received 450,000 visitors this year, once again matching the previous record achieved in 2015. There were 350,000 visitors from Germany and more than 100,000 visitors from abroad. According to the registrations, these visitors came from 138 countries; primarily from the Netherlands, followed by Denmark, Switzerland, Austria and Italy. Irrigation manufacturers were pleased with the record attendances and the globalisation of the show. The overall mood of the industry at Agritechnica was one of great confidence, reflected in a willingness to invest. As the visitor survey shows, more than two-thirds of the farmers, contractors and machinery manufacturers questioned intend to invest over the next two years. This future investment will mainly be directed towards the replacement or introduction of new installations, to the delight of the manufacturers of irrigation equipment.
