The next European Irrigation Association (EIA) Forum will be held online on Friday 25 April 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm CET.

2- Phytosterols used for supporting plant resistance to water stress
With global warming, more extreme weather events and water scarcity in many parts of the world, there is an urgent need to make our industry more sustainable. This is the aim of the EIA Irrigation Forums.
WHAT IS THE EIA IRRIGATION FORUM ?
The Irrigation Forum is an event held 4 times a year, covering a range of topics relevant to the irrigation sector in Europe. In addition to the technical programme, the Forum also offers participants the opportunity to meet (this time virtually...) and network with European colleagues.
This time we'll be looking at the Alliance for Water Stewardship. The AWS International Water Stewardship Standard (AWS Standard) is a globally applicable framework for major water users to understand their water use and impacts, and to work collaboratively and transparently towards sustainable water management in a catchment context. Ben Davis will begin with a presentation of the AWS and its certification process, followed by an application to a case study, berry producers through the Huelva Collective Action Accelerator.
The second part of the Forum is the Innovation and Technology session with one of our members as speaker, Aymeric Molin of Elicit Plant. Elicit Plant is a start-up company that has developed a method of extracting phytosterols and using them to support plants' resistance to water stress and improve their water use.
