After a disappointing 2016 event, Innov-Agri, the leading ‘conventional’ agricultural trade fair, wrapped up the 17th show (at Outarville, in the Loiret, from 4th to 6th September 2018) on a more optimistic note, with the attendance 4% up on 2016, i.e. an average of 75,000 visitors at the 3 shows.
Apart from the numbers, it was above all the quality of the professional visitors that most impressed exhibitors. In fact, even though the majority of the visitors were there to appreciate the wide diversity of the offers: agricultural machinery and equipment, digital agriculture, more and more of them were looking to exchange ideas, seek practical advice for the new cropping methods and, more generally, adapt themselves to the new expectations of society.
The agro-ecological village was a site that was not to be missed for the show’s visitors! Located at the very heart of the showground, with a surface area of 2.5 hectares, almost 40 speakers and authors, fifty or so specialist publishers, 31 technical workshops, more than 30 exhibitions or displays, 14 conferences, organised into sectors (agronomy, digital, mechanisation), this area contained all the ingredients required to explain the agriculture of tomorrow and, in particular, demonstrate the natural link between agricultural machinery and agronomy.
As far as the irrigators are concerned, the mood was upbeat. The general consensus among the exhibitors was that the show was bustling and alive, with many visitors, especially on the second day. We were able to discover many interesting new products on their stands. Valley presented its new X-Tec center drive motor with its new alignment technology, allowing the speed of the pivot to be increased with continuous movement of the spans. Lindsay presented a combined pivot and linear move machine. With regard to the hose reels, RM had a new 1000 GX hosereel irrigation machine and Fasterholt, a new GT 10/12 hosereel model. Finally, for remote management, Irrimec presented Top Rain, a system designed to modify and adjust the rotation angle of the sprinkler gun.
The next Innov-Agri show will take place on 4th and 5th September 2019 at Ondes (South-west, near Toulouse), then on 8th, 9th and 10th September 2020 at Outarville (department of Loiret).
